Unlike most other colleges, Carleton has a 10 week superbreak in the middle of winter. Ten weeks is a long time, enough time to find internships or winter jobs. Last winter I worked for the Obama caucus campaign in Iowa.

Aaron Kaufman wrote an interesting piece where he asked students how they were spending their breaks. Students mentioned everything from research on leaf-cutting ants to roadtrips through California.

The website where one can buy my book.

Book publishing is easy, if not exactly cheap.

I took advantage of break to work on a number of projects I had been working on, one of which was publishing a book. The book is a collection of blogs that I wrote during a year abroad in Germany. I edited the entries and added photos as well. The book is hosted by the website Blurb, and they only print as many copies as I order.

Maybe next I’ll publish my own children’s book.
